These “trends” are actually trend-less

The concept of a trend is to bring novelty. Trends are innovative and say something about the society we live in. They have a meaning. However, when repeated mechanically they lose their relevance and become trend-less.

Here are the “trends” that are definitely not worth wearing this summer :

1. Jelly Flats

Jelly flats

The trend started last year along with the “ugly shoe” movement intending to provoke. At first it came in as innovative. But this year, their “come back” is repetitive and honestly I could do without them this summer. I mean you can easily replace them with beautiful jewel sandals, as foot jewellery has been flourishing this year.

2. Butter Yellow

Butter yellow was a thing last year. And it came along with the trend of naming all trendy colours with food terms (chocolate brown and so on). But this year, butter yellow is replaced by sunshine yellow. The difference is subtle but real. It suggests a bright mood, and an art form (think about Monet’s sunsets). Let me give you advice on how to rock the trend here: Embrace Sunshine Yellow: The Summer Trend.

  1. Dear Chloe
I’ve always liked yellow, I treasured a yellow jacket from Selfridges London for years and yellow shoes I never could replace. But yikes no plastic shoes !!!
Keep up the good work girl
