I went to Berlin a few days ago and I was suprised of how discreate the cultural fashion scene was. I went to the famous Musée des Beaux Arts and noticed that all designers on display were mostly Parisian, Spanish or Italian (YSL, Balenciaga, Dolce and so on).
Only one dress of a German designer was on display. I wondered why there were not more German designers inside the museum. In Paris, we often have local designers in museums. What’s more, several German designers influence(d) the local fashion scene. Thus, I want to share their story with you and tell you how they influence(d) Berlin fashion.
The German designer behind maximalism : leopard prints, glitter, and more
I noticed many Berlin inhabitants wearing leopard prints, on Converse shoes for instance. But I also saw several women dressed in santiag boots, cowboy hats and glitter, as if they were going to a festival.
These attire are directly influenced by German designer Philipp Plein who is known for his maximalist creations (see Philipp Plein: the man who revolutionizes the fashion industry).
