The truth about chocolate

Is chocolate good for you or not? This question is broadly and deservedly discussed. How does chocolate affect your skin, health and behavior? Should you eat less chocolate than you actually do?I will answer these questions, highlighting the pros and the cons of chocolate.

The cons:

#skin effects

I eat a lot of chocolate. I’ve been doing so since I was very young. For breakfast, during tea time… I’ve been eating that much chocolate for a long time. Two months ago, my mother and dermatologist made me realize that if my acne treatment wansn’t as effective as I wanted it to be, it was probably because I ate too much chocolate. Hence I stopped -no kidding- eating chocolate for at least 3 weeks. Since then, I’ve decided to eat less chocolate. I only eat chocolate once to three times a week -averagely being. It was hard at first but I got used to it: I don’t feel the need to eat that much chocolate from now on. And my efforts paid off: my skin is much clearer now.

=> If you eat chocolate occasionally instead of daily, your skin will be clearer.

#stomach ache

Like many other food, eating too much chocolate is kind of sickly and I noticed my belly wasn’t quite happy about it.

=> Don’t each too much chocolate. Be reasonable. I am not saying you should do a diet. I am just saying you should respect your body. Instead of eating the whole tablet at once eat a few squares whenever you fill like it.

The pros:

Luckily eating chocolate is beneficial -as long as you keep it occasional.

#focus

During exams I eat a few sweets and chocolate. In fact, sugar stimulates your brain and keeps you concentrated.

#energy

It has been proven scientifically that drinking hot chocolate gives you more energy than most energy drinks. Good-bye red bull.

#memory

Scientists discovered that chocolate develops your memory skills. That would contribute to  explain why I have such a good memory…

#happiness

Let’s be real: sometimes you just really need some comfort.  Something that will make you smile and that will bring you Joy. Your family and friends will help you but chocolate does a wonderful job as well.
So what should I do? Should I continue to eat chocolate or not?

=> Don’t completly stop eating chocolate, that would be a huge mistake. Try to keep a balance in your diet: eat fruits, cereal bars, porridge… (Chocolate free snacks and breakfast) some days and eat chocolate on  other days. You’ll enjoy eating chocolate even more.

=>Dark chocolate is healthier and better for your skin than milk or white (the worst cause it is filled with sugar) chocolate.

Don’t lose faith. I did it. I am sure you can do it as well.

XO

    1. I perfectly understand. It was hard for me too. But I am happy that you managed to cut back. It is the first and most important step. You’ll make it don’t worry.
