How to treat your lips & apply lipstick like a pro?

Want kissable & colourful lips? Follow the guide!

1/Exfoliate your lips to make them soft
-DIY recipe: mix coconut oil and brown sugar. Rince off.
-If you prefer to buy a lip exfoliator you can try Dior’s sugar scrub.

2/Hydrate
Chapped lips are unattractive and sometimes they hurt.
-If your lips are very (or even a little) chapped, use Vaseline as a lip treatment. Vaseline is in fact a really good mosturiser (for other Vaseline hacks see my  https://lafashionbubble.wordpress.com/2016/11/13/hacks-using-petroleum-jelly/    post)

-If your lips are not chapped at all or if Vaseline doesn’t suit you, apply your favorite lip balm on them. I really like Shea butter lip balms because they smell nice and keep your lips hydrated.

=> If your lips are hydrated and have a creamy texture and it will be easier for you to apply your lipstick: your lipstick will naturally adhere to your lips.

3/Optional: Use a tinted lip balm before applying your lipstick to change the color of your lipstick. I like to use Yves Rocher’s raspberry lip balm. It it really natural and gives a subtle pink tint to your lips.

4/Avoid lipstick teeth marks

Fed up of having lipstick on your teeth after applying it? Simply lick your teeth: your saliva will magically do the trick and you won’t have to worry about lipstick teeth marks again.

5/Apply lipstick according to the shape of your lips:

-If you have small/thin lips, outline your lips with a lip crayon. Then draw an “x” on your cupid’s bow. Finally apply a lipstick (chose a shade which matches your lip crayon) where needed. Your lips will look fuller.
-If you have full lips you can do the same trick if you want to make your lips even fuller. But if you want a more natural look, apply your lipstick on the inside of your lips and then spread it by pressing your lips together.

6/If you put lipstick around your lips by mistake:

Take a cotton pad or a q-tip soaked in make up remover and apply it where needed.

7/If your lisptick is too dark for you:

Place a tissue between both lips and then remove it.

8/Make your lisptick last all night:

To make your lipstick last longer, apply powder on top of it. I like Mac’s prep and prime powder (see my post: https://lafashionbubble.wordpress.com/2017/07/05/makeup-tips-and-trends-for-summer/)

No matter how many drinks you have (don’t drink too much mind you) your lipstick will stay on your lips.

How do you treat your lips? What are your favorite lip products?
PS: This isn’t really related to my post but I have a sephora discount and I don’t really know how to spend it. I don’t need eye make up -and don’t really wear foundation, heavy makeup or contour my face. Which products do you recommend?
